Where? Ethiopia

Must see: The historical city of Axum

Why? The stelae (pillars) that have been built for centuries and placed on the tombs of the Emperors will blow your mind and keep you wondering how they were built. Also the tomb of the Queen of Sheba (Saba or Makeda) and the Ark of the Convenant were truly amazing.

If you can, try to visit this place around the time of the procession.
